About MatchConnect
What is MatchConnect and what do you do?
MatchConnect organises football tours, training camps and friendly matches in Spain for international teams. We work in Barcelona and Costa Brava, connecting visiting teams with local Spanish clubs for competitive, level-matched matches and professional training sessions. We have been doing this since 2019.
Who do you work with?
We work with football academies, youth teams, amateur and semi-professional clubs, sports travel agencies and school teams. Mainly from the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and Scandinavia — though we receive teams from across Europe and beyond.
Do you also work with Spanish teams?

Opponents and matches
How do you select the opponents?
We match teams based on level, age group and playing style. We do not arrange random matches — every opponent is selected to provide a competitive and meaningful game for both sides. This is the core of what we do.
What level of Spanish clubs do you work with?
We work with clubs at all levels — from grassroots and youth academy sides to amateur and semi-professional clubs. We select the opponent based on your team's profile, not on name recognition.
Can we play against professional academy teams?
In some cases yes, depending on availability and your team's level. Let us know your profile and we will tell you honestly what is available.
How many matches can we play during a tour or camp?
Most teams play between 2 and 4 matches over a 5 to 7 day programme. We recommend the right number based on your team's age group and intensity goals.
Can we arrange just a single friendly match without a full programme?
Yes. We offer a fixtures-only service for teams that already have accommodation and just need an opponent and facilities.
Training camps
What facilities do you use for training sessions?
We work with professional and semi-professional football pitches in Barcelona and Costa Brava. The specific facilities available for your dates will be included in your personalised proposal.
Can we combine training sessions with friendly matches?
Yes — in fact this is the most common format. A typical programme includes daily training sessions plus 2 to 4 friendly matches during the week.
Is it possible to organise just training sessions without matches?
Yes. If your team only needs training sessions, we adapt the programme to that format.
Logistics and what's included
What is included in the price?
It depends on the package you choose. Our full programmes typically include opponent matchmaking, training facility bookings, accommodation, full board meals, local transport and on-site coordination. We also offer partial packages — for example, matches and facilities only. Everything is detailed in your proposal before you commit.
Do you arrange flights?
No. We do not arrange international flights. Teams handle their own travel to Spain and we take care of everything from arrival onwards.
Do you arrange airport transfers?
Yes. Airport pickup and drop-off can be included in the programme.
What accommodation do you use?
We work with hotels and sports residences in Barcelona and Costa Brava that are suited to football teams — adapted rooms, team dining areas and proximity to training facilities.
Are meals included?
Full board meals can be included in the programme. We accommodate dietary requirements — please let us know in advance.
Booking and cancellation
How far in advance should we book?
For a single match, 2 to 3 weeks is usually enough. For a full camp or tour programme, we recommend 6 to 8 weeks minimum. For peak summer dates (June to August), 3 months ahead is ideal.
How does the booking process work?
You fill in our contact form or send us an email with your team details. We send you a personalised proposal within 24 hours. Once you confirm, we begin securing opponents, facilities and accommodation.
What happens if we need to cancel?
Cancellation terms depend on the timing and what has already been booked. We will always be transparent about cancellation conditions before you confirm anything.
Is there a minimum group size?
No fixed minimum. We have organised programmes for groups of 15 players and groups of 60. Tell us your squad size and we adapt.

Is Spain suitable for football tours year-round?
Yes. The climate in Barcelona and Costa Brava makes it possible to train and play comfortably throughout the year. Winter camps (November to February) are increasingly popular with northern European teams looking to escape cold weather at home.
How far is Costa Brava from Barcelona airport?
Costa Brava is approximately one hour by road from Barcelona airport, making logistics straightforward for teams arriving from across Europe.
